WHEN PAST AND FUTURE COLLIDE IN CAPE COD

3D Mapping world leader to create incredible light show
for Sandwich’s 375th anniversary

Los Angeles (July 24, 2014) — Paintscaping, a world leader in 3D projection mapping, will be projecting a spectacular light show on the façade of First Church, in Sandwich, MA, as part of the town’s 375th anniversary. It is the first 3D mapping in Cape Cod’s history. The show will be held from August 2nd through 4th, 2014 at 8:30pm, 9:00pm, 9:30pm, and 10:00pm. It is free, and everyone is welcome.

“3D mapping is a new technology that allows us to transform the world in ways never before possible. It is a true merging of real and virtual worlds,” says Philippe Bergeron, President and CEO of PaintScaping. Los Angeles-based PaintScaping has produced mappings all over the world, including Cancun, Hawaii, Quebec City, Las Vegas, Orlando, Chicago, Houston, Scottsdale, Paris, Portland, ME. And now Cape Cod.

“We’re extremely proud to bring PaintScaping to Cape Cod,” claims Steve Catania, owner of the Dan’l Webster Inn, in Sandwich. Catania met Bergeron in LA during one of PaintScaping’s shows. “Prior to the show, Philippe promised us PaintScaping would “blow our mind.’ I remember being quite skeptical with the bar set that high. Not only did he deliver, but we gave him a 2-minute standing ovation. And PaintScaping has promised us things they have never done before, and very specific to our history.” For example, the church will be transformed into a huge glass structure to celebrate Sandwich’s prominent glass-making past. “Deming Jarves would have been proud,” continues Bergeron, referring to the glass-making pioneer from the 19th century. “You’ll see beautiful glass objects coming out of the church like holograms. It truly will be magical.” How about fish coming in and out of the walls. Or a little boy jumping off the church into water like at the famed boardwalk, referring to the traditional Sandwich rite of passage. And what’s a 375th anniversary without virtual fireworks.

Interestingly, Bergeron has also been an actor for over 20 years. You’ve seen him in “Iron Man 2,” “Mad Men,” “Entourage,” “Rush Hour 3,” “The Sopranos,” “Contact,” “Godzilla (1998),” and over 50 more film and TV shows. “Thanks to my acting, I make sure the show is entertaining, and not just a series of cool effects,” concludes Bergeron.

“This is going to be a fantastic show for the whole family,” notes Cindy Russell, the chair of Sandwich’s 375th anniversary celebrations. “Paintscaping is one of the premier events that the Sandwich 375 Committee is hosting this year and it ties in perfectly with Water St. Wing Fling that takes place from 11am-8pm on Aug. 2nd & 3rd at Wing School. We’ll have a classic car show, lots of inflatables for the kids, a craft show, kayak tours, and even hot air balloons. Indeed a great day of free family fun!”

PaintSaping has produced projects for clients such as Sony Pictures, Ritz-Carlton, Eminem, Los Angeles Kings, Cirque du Soleil, Blue Man Group, Westin Hotels, and MGM Resorts International.
Bergeron will be in Sandwich and available for interviews, from July 28 to August 9 For more info, photos & videos about PaintScaping, please visit: www.PaintScaping.com
